The TECHINA (supplication) is included in the daily prayer-book as well as in the Book of Selichot. Like the “Vehu Rachum”, which is recited every Monday and Thursday, and known to have been composed at the time of the GEONIM, this was origibally composed for Fast Days. The TECHINOT in the Book of Selichot are mostly composed by AMRAM GAON. (At Congregation Or Ami, our Selichot service takes place on Aug at pm. We have a pot luck dessert at pm.) Candle lit, musical and stirring, this moving service calls us to reflect on the year that is ending. We begin with Havdala service on the bimah to bring Shabbat to a close.
The Annual Meeting of the members of The New Reform Temple, will held on Friday, , at pm online via ZOOM. For information how to access the meeting, please contact the Temple office. Shabbat service will follow the meeting at p.m. online on the Temple’s Facebook page. Second, we are changing the service time for our Erev Shabbat service held in the church sanctuary at the end of each month.
